A Bailey bridge in the Panchuria area of Gopalganj, Bangladesh, suddenly collapsed while an overloaded sand truck was crossing it, causing major disruption to local transportation.
According to local residents, the aging bridge, which had long been considered unsafe, gave way with a loud crash. The truck plunged into the canal below, along with an easy bike and a bicycle that were traveling behind it.

Two people, including the truck driver, were injured in the incident and were quickly rescued by local residents before being taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.
The collapse has cut off direct road communication between Gopalganj town and the Ghanapara, Sadar Hospital, and Chapail areas, forcing commuters to use alternative routes.
Officials from the Roads and Highways Department stated that the bridge was designed to carry limited loads and likely collapsed after the overloaded truck entered the structure. Repair work is already underway, and authorities hope to restore normal traffic within the next two days.
